Dreaming of distant travel
sony a7ii , Nikon 80-400 afs , Commlite adapter, handheld.  Not for Pix Peepers , and Jakov , the sensor is filthy and will spend today wet cleaning sensors  :(.   Just went to Low Key since my skies are characterless  ;)

From earlier this week. The moon seems to have gone into hiding today.

Unsurprisingly, this is a two-exposure blend; one for the moon and one for the scene. I love this picture, but have failed to pull off a good print of it...it always ends up a little too dark in the trees.

The moon set behind Hallingskarvet national park. As seen from my bedroom window.

Now, Asle, I can't make up my mind which shot I like better, this one, or the one in The Night Shot thread. Both are really nice.

Thanks, they're only 10 minutes apart. (4:19 and 4:29 AM this morning)

There are many nights between each time the moon set from a cloudless sky in the blue hour. And with place for the tripod between the window and the bed, so one don't need to go stay up, there are much time to sleep.

Stellarium ( http://stellarium.org ) is a great tool for planning when one has to be awaken, this is a screenshot. With the sun 4-5° under the horizon at the actual time, it is just set the alarm clock.

An elegant solution to the problem of staying up all night and appearing like a drunk at work the next day :)

Ours looked closer to Brute's than Akiras.
And given how poor the weather can be in Europe in October, we had a good night from the year's Harvest Moon
(I watched it as as I drove home that night, rather than trying to take a picture)
