Super Blue Blood Moon over Picacho Peak, Arizona
Nikon D850 with 70-200 f/4G at 100mm, f/4.0, 2.0 sec, ISO 800

Did not have the focus spot on, but you probably can't tell at this size.

That is really nice James, I like that you also captured  some stars, well done!

The eclipsed moon in January was special as it was the second full moon of the month ("blue moon") in addition to being on the closer side, and now again we got two full moons in March. So it is proper to present the "Double Blue Moon" as a follow up to the lunar eclipse, if not a particularly creative attempt:

Øivind ,
Impressive image , feels like the moon can be touched from here

Here is the second blue moon of 2018
D800, 70-300zoom @300mm f/8, iso 3200, 1/1.6 sec
Needed some localized adjustments on the moon to reduce highlights and saturation

Amando, thanks for the commenting. Excellent timing - thanks for posting this beautiful capture here too, and proving that the blue moon is not really blue.  I think your moon looks bigger  :) .

Sorry, no image to post.
But when I woke at 03:30am and the crescent moon was shining brightly, I spent a while examining it with some binoculars.

Had to steady myself on my tripod, but it was fascinating to have the time to discover the textures of the light side, then watch the dark side emerge & add the 3D dimension to the moon.

Colin, yes, the crescent moon is the best to appreciate its intriguing texture of the surface.  Even just the shape is mysterious and attractive.

One composition of the "blood Moon" which occurs every so many years and another straight forward but hopefully accurate image of the moon.

From memory, the first was with 200-400 f4 and D200 or D800 and the latter with 600mm f4 + x1.4 converter on D800 (taken mid afternoon in a bright blue sky)

I prefer the zoom in/out version of the first image. Great idea!
Not that i dislike the second image, Mongo :)

Another moon image...
This is the first of many images in a new "collection" that I’m calling Cambrian (in Norwegian; Kambrium).
The moon 🌓 was shot with my D810 and Nikkor 300 2.8 VR with TC 20 E III, - 600 5.6..
This is not the final image though, it’s only a draft I were playing a bit with.
