John, your moon-at-dawn photo is very evocative.  It takes me straight to northern Europe.  It could be almost any small city or outer suburb (I like how all of the signs, the street, the buildings are slightly blurred, so I can't tell where).  The streets are quiet, the city is just waking up, there is a bakery open just around the corner ...

Ann, I am not sure how you made this or how many images are involved here, but I do love the outcome.  :)

Thank you both: I am so happy that you enjoyed the Night Flight.

I had some "global" assistance: all the photographs are mine but they were taken in widely different parts of the world.

The Moon was shot from my garden in Brewster, NY;
the Milky-way was shot in the clear winter skies of Namaqualand;
and the two separate Nectar-feeding Bat images were shot in Costa Rica.

Just a little bit of computer alchemy, and some careful masking, married them all together.

Moon over the city

The hot air rising from the buildings was giving this trembling effect.

Amazing!  I would call it an E.T. effect.  :D
