Gary - I see you are a man who likes extreme contrast - no harm there (sometimes it might mean that details are lost, and the detail on these old planes is often beautiful).

But you have lots of fine images here - too many to mention. Of the original six you posted, #2, 4, 5, and #6 are favourite.

Thank you David. I'm a contrast freak. While I appreciate the technical end of photography ... high levels of precision isn't my thing. There is very little difference between writing and photography, with what I shoot and how I shoot. I try to select the details that tell what I think is important in the story I am telling. As a romantic, I attempt to heighten the drama with contrast.

Thank you Armando. What is very nice about Chino, is that there is very little supervision, one can easily reach out and touch the planes, slide one's hand across the wing. The feel of the plane really brings a closeness and opens another dimension to the museum.

Outside there is a boneyard of planes that are to be restored. One can crawl all over those planes.




I ran into an Australian crawling around in the boneyard. He said that he's been to a lot of air museums, but there is nothing like Chino.
