Scavenger 2016
« on: June 16, 2015, 00:14:50 »
As I have nothing but good memories of the original Scavenger Tour I am hereby putting out a feeler about a re-happening.
I have the south-southwestern Norway or Lofoten in mind, but other localities/countries are of course equal candidates.
So lets hear 'em!

I'm in on Lofoten (and maybe including Vesterålen ?).
Not only that, as I am quite familiar with the area I can take care of most of the logistics and arrangements where to stay etc :)

I'm like to join. Both options are good, but I have a slight preference for Lofoten, including Vesterålen, as I never been there.

Well, Lofoten is close to where my roots are so I am more than happy to vote for it.

What kind of photography? Mostly landscapes?

I too would love to join in on Lofoten - and whatever you "locals" suggest, as this part of Norway is new for me, sounds great and would maybe add the opportunity to see and capture Aurora Borealis?

Nice to see you are eager to meet up and shoot together :) Indeed fond memories of the Scavenger tour, Lofoten and Herdla workshops

The NikonGear Crew is already looking into arranging new workshops and we will look for suggestions in this thread naturally.

And, local scouts are always the best at finding suitable locations ;)

Northern Lights are a possibilty from September until March. (From May to July the midnight sun and bright nights can be fascinating).
This photo is from the NikonGear gathering in sept. 2011 in Lofoten, it is taken 2 metres from the entrance to the cabins where we stayed.

I would be interested just for this.  :)

I will say it upfront that I will not buy any T shirts, caps, etc with any logos and am also not interested in shooting pictures of each other in a group to pretend that is photography.

The Lofoten trip was indeed fantastic, we had Northan lights several nights in a row! And such a great time, even shooting IR pinhole images, portraits and bird shot by bear can pinhole...

There will be no selling of merchandise on this site, it's a part of the idea behind the NikonGear site :)

As for pictures of participants in any other private circumstance, just say you refrain from having yourself depicted - I remember your choice ;)
