It certainly does work. I find myself leaning into the curve, eyes focused well ahead and peripheral vision blurred.

Muckle Flugga light on the evening of Nov 27th 2023. Df, 70-200@135 mm, f 2.8, 26 sec, handheld on bord MS Norröna.

The light characteristic is Fl(2) W 20s - one full cycle and the start of the following captured. Color rendition to taste - it was a pretty grey evening as one would expect for end of November Northern Atlantic weather.
