Forest Blues! fantastic capture... it's so clean looking, really demonstrates that sharpness is overrated  ;D
Thanks Erik for the kind words. I must admit it is an image I can get back to and say I really like. It took quite a few tries to get something that worked for me.

Øivind: while the subject might be have done times before, this execution is excellent and really stands out from the crowd. I can well understand you are pleased with it. A tiny bit lifted in brightness might  make it even better, but this is a matter of taste more than a requirement.

Sten, that face is fantastic, I love it. Personally I would crop it a bit, but that's nitpicking.

Let us show the best unsharp photos ever. It is actually more difficult than you think getting a good one?

Ok, I'll play! :)

These certainly aren't the best or anything like that.  Just an experiment carried out a while ago.

Cheers!

Raaj: I love the Self portrait. In general the "Full Frame OOF" technique allows for another kind of compositions.

Because there is less structural definition, there are more color blob relations and the rendering of the OOF part (all in this case) becomes more important too.

After some experiments with DEFOCUSSING I found it to be more interesting to MOVE THE CAMERA WHILE SHOOTING.

Then I took onto INVERSE PANNING, by shooting still standing subjects from a driving car. Background was my customner took me with him in his car to cover events all over Germany. Because we were on his time table we would not step out unless we neded to.
You are out there. You and your camera. You can shoot or not shoot as you please. Discover the world, Your world. Show it to us. Or we might never see it.

My favourite (and hated) unsharp image wasnt taken by me - but is OF me.
Me - coming off the boat (salt wind and water) and looking like shit - but I am with Dolf Lundgren. Oh my-  is he a nice guy!

At least the trees behind me are in focus

Thanks Bjørn for the kind words. While I intended for a somewhat dark and intimidating atmosphere, I think I agree, and in particular when displayed against the white background of the forum - I will evaluate at a slightly lighter version next time I touch it.

Lot of nice contributions here, on this page I particularly like the ones of  Gary, Akira and Sten.
