Hello, I think it's a geometric caterpillar, a looper caterpillar, probably in some pre-metamorphosis process
Thanks Arturo! Yesterday I even got my neighbor searching in her insect books, which, led to the moth family. Since all the bits and pieces were present, and it being completely motionless, I think you’re right it probably was in some kind of pre-metamorphosis stage. It was only 2cm long (used a caliper !)
Unfortunately, an afternoon shower swept it away…..

Again, thanks for replying!

At the pursuit of the black grouse - Leica Q2 - Nikon Z8 & Z 400mm f/4.5 & TC 1,4x
Today it was really worth to get up at 4 o'clock to search for the black grouse at 1'800m ASL

Sounds like the aches from your body are now less than your urge to get stellar & interesting images Daniel.
I'm curious that you didn't get dragged off by the Gendarmes for using a handy without due care & consideration  :P

Same applies here as elsewhere in the world of photography: if it doesn't work -- get closer :)

The scenery looks familiar, though. I think we did a photo_op around that watch tower?
That is the tower where we took the photos a while ago?

& Gibraltar with a cloud topping!

Yes, that is the 1st tower up the coast from La Línea. We did shot around and even from the top  ;)

I keep trying to get acquainted with the DJI mavic 3 drone. The points of view are mind blowing but the quality, even at full sun, low iso and f5.6...something is not right. Working on files right now.

nikon D70, AF.S MICRO NIKKOR 105mm 1:2.8G

There is an overall feel of silky texture holding the image together. The use of positive and negative space works very well to get rhythm. The flowers my be butterflies and the butterfly may be a flower.

Yes Fons, I think so too. Here another example. 90 degrees, looking straight down from the drone. There many interesting things going on  :)

Great results with the Mavic.   The quality of the images with the Mavics is indeed a problem.  The Mavic 4 pro seems to be better but the sensor is still very small 4/3 inch.
