Just a proof of concept: the legendary Cooke Speed Panchro works with my Z fc. This is a battered 1 inch f/2 lens from late 1942/early 1943, set in a tiny barrel, and although functional it badly needs internal cleaning. However, it has to do for now. I made an ad-hoc focusing mount for it, which allows infinity focus, but really needs improvement. Additional parts are on their way so the matter should be better resolved later this summer.
The Speed Panchro is quite sharp, but the internal dirt makes it ever so slightly hazy and bright objects tend to have colour fringes or double contours. All adds to the charm of a really old lens. It's even many years older than me!! The barrel is roughly finished, no wonder as the text 'WAR FINISH' is engraved. I think it might have been intended for aerial use in a gun target recording system? The lens obviously has seen a lot of use (even abuse).
For testing, Ruth's tomato plants had to be substituted for enemy fighter air planes of WW II. They move more slowly.
