Thanks, yes that is what i always thought of the Nikon 10.5mm fisheye and even more so after shaving it for FX use,  thanks to recent inspiration from Paco. Discovering that a cutoff tall narrow type soda can was a perfect fit inside the shade and housing to protect the lens surface and focusing barrel also helped push me into trying this.

Thanks Paco. The 10.5mm was crying in fear before the procedure in spite of my assurances that all precautions had been taken, but she felt very liberated afterwards having reached her full potential.  :)

Le "vert de mai", the green of May, as the locals say. In May and June, the seaweed uncovered at low tide turns a phenomenal shade of green that I've never seen anywhere else.
