Thanks Ian! The end results can be great, but the (mental) beauty is the photographic process though. A dragonfly tends to sit down on a fixed particular spot, stationary, which, makes these kind of pictures possible. Then suddenly they take off because they have spotted prey vertically above them (seen the different shape of the vertical and front vision fragmented eyes?) literally have seen them returning with prey within seconds and have seen (and took picures of) them devouring what they just catched. I Have developed this technique because it can completely take your mind away at the end of a mentally intensive day. And you can do all of this in your back garden….with bellows, a PB-4 even allowing Scheimphlug without tripod, and certainly, without, just learned, freezing spray (no offense Frank!
