How do I * Frank permanently get rid of bracken?

Repeated removal of new stems and sections of rhizome will weaken and eventually eradicate bracken. Position your fork at the base of the stems to minimise soil disturbance. Cut or crush stems – damage fronds by cutting them back or crushing them while shoots are still young and tender.

*I  happen to like Bracken in all its subspecific variability

I found the tiny Kyoei W.Acall 35mm f/3.5 M39 hidden in a cupboard. I vague recalled it was useless for UV (the M42 version is very fine for this), so many years ago I was about to throw the lens away but didn't. Apparently it likes IR if nothing else.

On the other side, why not? The focusing likely is very slow, like in the older days, and that might, just might, make taking the photo more enjoyable??

It has been good fun adapting the lens and trying to use it. The hardest part of focusing on a moving subject (my son will not hold still ) is the narrow ring on the helicoid that is right up against the camera body.

Besides, enlarger lenses tend to be quite affordable items.
