I love Akira's gecko photograph in his "Visitor in the middle of the night" image.

Glad you like it, Ann!  The mixed backlight and the longitudinal chromatic aberration may have helped here.

Love it Ian!

Your image reminds me of a  family friend who is an eye doctor & medical researcher and on one occasion she was returning home to Australia after having attended an international eye conference with several dozen eyes from dead people amongst her luggage - which she dutifully declared to customs along with the special paperwork for the import of human tissues - as is required here.

A somewhat officious customs offer demanded to inspect them and threw up at what they saw - served the silly bugger right!  LOL   ;D

I have been travelling with limited access to decent wi-fi. However, I have tried to keep an eye on things.

Ruth's reunion concert was a huge sucess in all regards. The venue was crammed to beyond capacity with hundreds of persons and still people in a waiting line snaking around the corner.

I took mainly video at the event, but allowed myself a snapshot or two at the group in between. There were several camera crews present shooting footage for a planned documentary  film. I availed myself of the rare moments where a crew had made itself scarce in front of the performers.

Zf with 50/2.8z, Ruth plays the accordion.

Love it Ian!

Thanks, Hugh, for both the comment and the great story.

These eyeballs were in the gift shop of a museum that my children have been eager to visit again ever since we found it last year.

Thank you John.
Do you like the 24-70vr better than its predecessor, the vr may make the difference in certain situations?

I still like the previous 24-70 which is in the center extremely sharp and most useful also in macro-situtions. However, the vr is more versatile, and overal sharper image. And it works better on all the Nikon camera's giving the older cameras an extra plus and enhancing it's output on the Z camera's. The rendering is more pleasant than the Z 24-70/2.8S which is too clinical in my feeling.

And extra:  Especially on older camera's like the D3x, D2, D1 and Fuji S3-S5 the VR is a compensation for it's lower ISO margin.

A Visitor in the middle of the night.

Very nice gecko image, Akira! I agree with Ann.

They are fascinating lizards - when I as a child saw a gecko for the first time climbing a vertical glass surface, I was baffled. Ingenious feet.
Unfortunately we don't have geckos in Denmark - must be nice to have them visiting from time to time to debug the home  :)

Thank you, Lars!  Actually, the gecko is called "ya-mori" in Japan, and that means "the guardian of the house", because they eat bugs.
