these pictures are made in the Hymer museum. I think that our active Dutch people feel at home straight away. If there are others who have old/exotic camping vehicles (at least photographed) f.e. Airstreams , please show your pictures

The first series shows the first caravan in Germany (1931), which was built by a salesman to take his fiancée on business trips. She was an artist, so the trailer had space for painting equipment.

Thanks Thomas for posting this series.

To modern eyes, the caravans and mobile homes of yesteryear look quite unusual - some are so ugly that only their parents and/or originators could love them. 

Never the less, I see some nostalgia buffs here in Australia towing the teardrop shaped caravans such as you show in some of your shots.
