historic caravans and mobile homes
« on: August 27, 2024, 00:53:38 »
these pictures are made in the Hymer museum. I think that our active Dutch people feel at home straight away. If there are others who have old/exotic camping vehicles (at least photographed) f.e. Airstreams , please show your pictures

The first series shows the first caravan in Germany (1931), which was built by a salesman to take his fiancée on business trips. She was an artist, so the trailer had space for painting equipment.
The girl in front is a bit younger :) (1967)

Great serie Thomas.

I am not a fan of campings (and caravans) but I remember family who tried to survive in such places  ;D

Thanks Thomas for posting this series.

To modern eyes, the caravans and mobile homes of yesteryear look quite unusual - some are so ugly that only their parents and/or originators could love them.  ;D

Never the less, I see some nostalgia buffs here in Australia towing the teardrop shaped caravans such as you show in some of your shots.
