Endive and chicories are slightly different from a botanical point of view—endive are annuals and chicories are perennials—but for cooking purposes it's useful to lump all of them (endive, radicchio, treviso, frisee, escarole, etc.) together.

Just 99 years old -- yet one of the youngest locomotives running on my local narrow-gauge museum railway. The caretakers love to take the old lady out for a weekend stroll, and we love the sight, hissing smoke,  and atmosphere accompanying her.

What a lovely loco Birna - steam engines need a lot of love and I admire people dedicating their free time to take care of them.
