The blue banded bees normally show up immediately after sun rise. I find that I have a better chance of getting a good shot early in the morning as they spend a bit longer 'drinking' at each flower (Salvia in this case).

never have seen blue banded bees before. I like this picture very much, it is very natural, has harmonic and strong colors. The insect looks just like a pet, fabulous.

This is from the heart of Manchester, UK, in 2009. (I want to say Cross Street but am not entirely certain.)

When I was photographing my negatives with a D4 there was not much to the work in Photoshop. Mostly setting the white and black points in Levels or Curves. With the Z6, the image occupies a much narrower part of the histogram and effort is required to tease out the contrast. Is this a sign that the Z6's sensor has greater dynamic range?

Frankly this looks very much like a stacked shot and you need a lot of time to set the tripod up, focus and do the stack shot

A persimmon tree seen right from my place.  The landlord has harvested all but one fruits from the tree.  To save one persimmon fruit for the birds to eat is an old tradition in Japan.  This one fruit left on the tree is called "Ki-mamori" which could be translated "guardian of a tree".

The snow cleaning trucks swung into action early this morning. Not that much falling in terms of snow actually, but Norwegians always complain if snow isn't immediately cleared off the roads. In fact a pity as I love driving [fast] on snow-covered roads Oh well, one cannot satisfy everyone.

Z fc, Viltrox 75mm f/1.2. The lens is  very sharp, but light levels were low this early hour and no morning coffee had been imbibed on my part. So outcome was on the 'just fair' side as well.
