Ordinarily this would be a typical 'photo club' cliché using carefully arranged autumn foliage .... however, we had a heavy snowfall that morning followed by strong winds thus the deciduous trees all shed their foliage at once. It was just a matter of traipsing around to find pleasing juxtapositions of snow and leaves. I have a handful of such shots, but selected this one for NG.
By the way, the dark blotches on the leaves are infestations by the parasitic fungus Rhytisma acerinum. The spots now are irregular in shape and lighter in colours than in the first stages of infection, which means the ascii (sporangia) have shed their spores already, ready to infect new host trees. The cycle of life spins again.
