Heavy snowfall late in the evening, after nightfall. The bright f/0.75 aperture on the Rayxar helped me capture the scene despite the darkness. Everything was blurred in the white-out, though.

Restoration is underway on the Witches Bridge (Heksenbrug). It's called so because in medieval times women who were suspected witches were thrown in the water from the bridge.
If they would not sink that was proof they were witches. Unfortunately many women would float because air would get caught under their layer of dresses.
Also some women sew stones in their dress which made them drown but saved their family the embarrassment of having a witch in their family. Those were harsh times.
The woman with the baby crossing the bridge though made it safely across!

We had witch processes in my country as well in the late 16th century. They occurred mainly up high in the North, in Arctic Norway, and although the water test regime was used, torture was more usual and the alleged perpetrator burnt on a stake.
