Very interesting adapter! Hope to see it in detail on a new thread; What the nerds do ;)

I'm collecting the parts for #2 adapter ... will record the progress ... ridiculously simple solution will be disclosed :)

Marvelous how the short register distance of mirorless ILC cameras can breathe new life (such as infinity focus) into older lenses once people figure out how to mount them onto the mirrorless bodies.

The Rodenstock Heligon 100/1.6

Working on the adapter for the  new Z-mount. This is a shot with the FTZ adapter and 11mm and 18mm Meike extension rings on the Z6

The 2mm additional register distance of the Z Nikon (16mm) vs Sony (18mm)  is in fact the key factor. Properly done there is no longer an acute danger of the rear lens getting in touch with the sensor surface. In fact, even the shutter shield of the Z9, if it is activated, will clear. The gap in the latter case is small, however, so one can set the camera to not open and close the shield whilst the lens is mounted. Or, focus the lens off infinity when the camera is turned off.

As I said earlier, the Oude Delft Rayxar 50mm f/0.75 has a slightly larger imaging circle than the TV-Heligon, and the difference means one can use almost 24MPix of the 45MPix Z9 for some close-ups at least. The tulips I purchased for Valentine's Day is a fitting test subject :) The depth-of-field is vanishingly narrow.

Beautiful play with all the lines; add the subject and action isolation and it is a very interesting visual reading. The contrast of the youngster and the birds with the grey monolith in the back makes that presence somehow ominous. The living and the cement, the color and the grey, tho movement and the static, the living and the dead.
