Contrary to the snowy weather a couple of days ago, it has been worm just for two days, and the Japanese plum tree right below my balcony has started to bloom.

In case anyone wonders, here is the working prototype "X-Ray" to Z adapter which allows focusing to infinity. Not anything  like Erik would have achieved, but the contraption works :)

The short flange back of 16mm of Z mount helped to achieve infinity focus, maybe?

Yes, there still is approx. 4mm left at infinity focus. Thus just the clearance required for the shutter cover curtain of the Z9. On the other Z/FX, with mechanical shutters, infinity focus also works if one is careful. Just hand-holding the lens in front doesn't work well as the danger of scratching the sensor is very high. Once the lens is "locked" through the Z bayonet on the adapter, the danger evaporates.

All X-Ray Heligon & Oude Delft fans: despair not. The new adapter still allows close focus and super-blurry images !!!

Nice portrait Hans.  The cat tunnel creates a pleasing frame for the image.

He/she/it is still fairly young?

Thank you Hugh. I would guess Olli was about 10 months old when this was taken...so technically a "katten" ;D

Looks like a good solution, thanks for the post.

Reminds me that I still need to finish the 'adapter-work' Rodenstock Heligon 100/1.6   ;)

A proof the blurry rendition of the Rodenstock TV-Heligon still exists -- if one wants it :)
