Earlier this month saw me appointed to a National Expert Validators Group for the Norwegian national obervation and recording system for biological species. I'm joining the Vascular Plant Validators Group. We spent the weekend in an intercalibration assessment and standardisation meeting. I'm dealing mainly with aquatic plants.

Most partipants are grey-haired veterans in the field. And me as the point of contrast :)

After a visit to the retinal specialist last week, my wife picked me up and we stopped off at a barbeque shop on the way home.  My eyes were dilated and I was barely able to open them despite wearing my darkest sunglasses.  While I waited for my wife in the car, I noticed this lady come up and sit on the bench out front.  Her T-shirt reads "Happy To Be Home for The Holidays" and I thought the framing in the open car door was interesting.  D700 with Nikkor 35/2 AI lens.  Kinda difficult to focus given the circumstances.

In Japan, we call a lady in a group of men "a red dot".  This is an exemplary example!

Open door, open sign, close body. There is also contrast with the curves and straight iines fighting to get the protagonism on the frame. There is also the obvious contrast in b&w. Intricate composition makes you have to  implicate yourself to watch the woman. A point of "veyour" and a point of getting in your shoes (your point of view). All and all an engaging image.

Congratulations Birna! In this image, the attention of the participants, in and out the image, gravitates towards you  :)
