I have been working on some black-and-white negatives. This one is from Vancouver in 2009.

This photograph from 2009 features yours truly leaning against the Steam Clock in the old Gastown part of Vancouver.

That is a nice capture, Naos, lucky gull. If your capture was on April 2, then the spot could perhaps be sunspot 2978 (but a little low though) and not another bird in the background. See my second capture from April 3 where it would have moved a little further to the lower right than the day before: https://nikongear.net/revival/index.php?topic=1867.msg181997#msg181997.
Thank you!
My capture is on April 5, this is a sun spot as it appears in all photos in the series

There is an exhibition about photography these days in my place and I was lucky to see the new 800pf, impressive IQ! I also show the new 400 S tc but not so impressed there was a light but noticeable difference when the tc engaged on Z5
Mostly impressed dy Z9 , big bright evf  and Instant AF!
Not so many people this time compared to the previous years..

It's pretty late in the season for the blossoming Forsythia

Yes, thinking about it, it is the effect of more southern latitude on where that same sunspot is seen. Astronomical images are often represented with the sun's north straight up, closer to what we see at high latitudes (for instance if you use the way back view for spaceweather.com), while further south the position will be modified by the tilt when the image is aligned to the horizon. This can be tested by changing ones location to different latitudes in Stellarium and observe change in location of Stellarium's sunspots.

Thank you all for the nice comments on the last image I posted.
After more than a few days without shooting I took the d200 ir with the 18/70 and set out in a fury  :)

I'm planning of posting a few images, all taken with one camera, one lens, in one morning stroll

Have you tried the full frame lenses - in particular the 85mm?
Maybe someone can give you more help
I had the chance to try the viltrox 85 1.8 lens on Z6 last Friday in an photo exhibition  and it was very good overall
It’s quite bulk, I only got Nikon 1.8G to compare, more contrasty than mine a little out of Nikons typical colors
I used eye af and noticed a bit out of focus on some snapshots not perfectly on the eye, I don’t know may be needed some kind of firmware update it was an out of the box copy
I’ll probably go for it if I had no 85 in my bag :)
