Nikkor F 70-200mm f4 + TC14II (on a Z6)
« on: January 16, 2022, 17:47:51 »
Today I shot a few images to test my newly acquired TC14II converter which transforms the 70-200mm into a 98-280mm f5.6. Sharpness wide-open at f5.6 seems ok.

1. 280mm f5.6

2. 135mm f5.6

3. 100mm f7.1

4. 210mm f5.6

Hi Luc,
These look rather good. Which zoom version is yours - the VR II or the FL?
For anything above 24 MPix I would recommend the TC14 III, a net improvement in performance.

Hi Wally, it's the 70-200mm f4 not the f2.8. I've modified the topic title!

Thanks. I have an f4, and have just ordered a used TC14II :-)

Hi Wally, I stumbled across a cheap used TC14II. As I shoot with the 24mp Z6 the performance of the TC14II is ok for me. I can imagine a higher mp sensor does stress the optics more as indicated by your remark.

Oh oh, I hope I'm not to blame ;) It's a nice, fairly lightweight combo you'll like it.
