What a loss Akira. Was it a special lens? Hopefully the camera is OK !
Love this view. Is it a canal? Not so many trees in that area.
Thank you for your concern, John. The defunct lens was Lumix S 50/1.8 that I had bought only a few weeks ago. I loved the images the lens offered and I think its large plastic lens hood functioned very efficiently as the shock absorber.
This is Tamagawa river, one of the largest three rivers running through Tokyo. It takes only 10-20 minutes to walk the area from my place. Both riversides are utilized as playgrounds, camping sites, mini-golf courses et al. Also, there are dikes all along the river to protect the residential areas against the flood. So, there are not many trees left.
