I have been revisiting some of my old black-and-white negatives. These are from my early days as a photographer and so I do not see as many keepers as I once did. Still, I am pleased that I did have my moments.

This one was taken on the north side of Granville Island in Vancouver. The boat in the foreground is a taxi to the shore of the downtown core.

The film was Ilford HP5+ and the lens was the AF Nikkor 24mm f/2.8D.

Nature's Fall texture

Bottom of a mushroom . 

Macro work allows many overlooked gems to be captured.

Just straight post processing in PS. No fancy filters.  The result was helped with transillumination of the mushroom.

As Armando said, lovely contrast and yet still full of detail.

I am pleased, too, that the photographer in the foreground is exploring a point of view that is not simply eye-level.
