I guess that when electric cars become driverless cars, then the 5G or 6G driverless car control networks could robotically alert pedestarians via their cell phones as to the presence of an electric car.  Punters could then program in whatever sounds they like rangeing from a Model T to the latest and greatest F1 race car!  But Electric cars are sure quiet - that is for sure!

Stay safe.

I don't really miss the sound of the combustion engine, but I fear that it would be difficult to notice a car approaching from behind or around the corner.

The "everyday machismo" in Paris...
As if in fifty years of biking I hadn't met ladies much more knowledgable in motorbike mechanics as most men ? A sort of counterpoint to Fons picture (congratulations for the Zfc :-) ) :-)

To keep it this small, light, and  retractable, nikon had to come with these somewhat strange apertures.

Osmanthus in bloom for the second time this year.

I'm impressed Akira.
I buy tea that's scented with Osmanthus and it's astounding.
Do your flowers have much aroma too?

Hugh, thank you for the warning.  Technically yes, but that may not necessarily be comfortable for the pedestrians when the phone rings or vibrates every time a car approaches, especially in busy cities.

As for the sound of the engines, the sampling technology is mature enough to be implemented into the cars or bikes!

Fons, most of the lens mounts are designed to break more easily than the camera mount to protect the camera when the lens/camera combo is dropped.  That's why even the mounts of the more expensive lenses are made of brass whereas the mounts of the cameras are made of stainless steel.

Colin, yes, the Osmanthus flowers in Japan also have so much aroma that you can notice their bloom even without seeing any!

The river runs under the bridge, but on the farther left of the left edge of the frame.  :D  What you see in the picture is the riverside.

Even now, electric cars should have a beeper (like trucks when they enetr rear gear), when they approach a pedestrian. Not a loud one, better than honking and scaring the pedestrian. Not a huge investment for producers, most modern cars have a front radar anyway.
