So it may have been a slow sashay up the beach in order to draw a little attention

Scary indeed, it would seem that this croc may have been chasing turtles nesting on the beach. At the moment the water is warm enough for them to stay in, they don't need to land to warm up in the sun. The beaches here in the far North West  remain pristine, patrolled by crocs, sharks and stingrays keeping pesky humans away!
