Indeed it was. Though I hate cold it's better for nature to have what used to be "normal" temperatures.

Om my way to work, at my age 70 i still maintain some gardens, once at work no cold anymore.
Incidentally i stop and take a picture, the old D3s comes in handy and the tam 45 i lke better than a nikkor in that focal length.

The "monolith" was actually a riveted thin aluminum box...

  on closer inspection it may indicate the tubes under the sidewalk, size and what it is carrying.
