It is the Voigtlander 40mm f/2.  The Nikon 45mm is even smaller.  Here they are side by side, including their similar cut-off cone hoods. 

In my experience, the Voigtlander is at least as good optically and better handling - the aperture ring of the Nikon is just too narrow and close to the focus ring - and the Voigtlander is the same price new as the Nikon is used.

Apart from the stop difference, the Nikkor 45P beats the Ultron 40 (at least my mint sample) optically in my experience especially the bokeh and colours.

Hi John,

i love(!) the colors of the little Voigtländers. But i agree with the bokeh: It is just "ok" to sometimes bad. But it has very good ergonomics for its size and it is a little tank in terms of build quality. Focus ring is perfectly damped!

Yes, Harald. That is absolute true. The handling is much better of the CV40.

The screw in filter on the Voigtlander makes it very well suited as ad hoc macro solution. The FOV is IMO also a perfect middle ground between a 35 and a 50 mm.

Thanks Les, it was the hood that fooled me. 

I had a brief acquaintance with a 45 P, but sold it when I bunked off to Fuji.
