The start of the Vuelta in the Netherlands was blessed with excellent weather and good fortune.

Rush Cleaning, or being in a cleaning rush?
The incidence frequency of the root-galling fungi I'm looking for is <0.1%, and the galls themselves can be <1mm in size although many are bigger (fortunately, but only 2-3mm, a very few larger) so it feels a bit similar to the Klondike hunt for gold nuggets....

When my search for root-parasitic fungi strikes gold, this is an example of a large 'nugget' :)
Entorrhiza casparyana on Juncus alpinoarticulatus
Nikon Z7 with the Laowa 100mm f/2.8, the latter now largely replacing my old workhorse AF 60mm f/2.8 Nikkor for studio work. It offers better perspective due to the longer focal length and goes to twice life-size (2:1) on its own. In terms of sheer sharpness there is perhaps insignificant differences, however the Laowa lens has less chromatic aberrations.

Having a look again om some of the images from Croatia I definitely still see banding in some instances however the are removable in Photoshop with Surface Blur on a layer mask
