Can we conclude, the, that 13 is your lucky number?
I had a small project some years ago where I gathered photos of all the f-numbers on the aperture scale from signs or labels. I remember "0.5" and "0.7" were the tricky ones to get.

Actually, no. It is a very good old friend´s favorite. One year I decided to give him a poster with 13s from places around the world. It was pretty cool. After that I just keep on finding and capturing them everywhere. :)

Magic number and beginning of the journey. I´m going to use my most sought after motive: 13th place in a theater.
Montreal Ópera, Montreal, Canada. Sometime around 13 minutes before the hour, friday 13th 2009. The only broken and dirty sit in the audience...

aaah, the last but one... quintessential it is. You should have removed the few blemishes on the white chairs though. Maybe those lousy portrait-filters-turning-skin-to-plastic would have done it.
Joke aside, well observed and great diversity of subjects and techniques. The first one (plaza de toros) is particularly well seen.

It's funny how much more you actually observe, when you start looking with something specific in mind. The diversity of these images is very good and thus making the theme more enjoyable as such.

Diversity has very long span of time and space behind it. This is the first time I try to show them together. A few more still on the archives will come soon.

It's funny how much more you actually observe, when you start looking with something specific in mind.
What you explained is very similar to the benefit of "Low latent inhibition". Increased awareness of your surrounding environment and noticing things around you nobody else usually does... Photographer's boon.
Paco, this is a very creative and interesting series. Honestly, your keen observation and phenomenal photography skills are making this series more enjoyable. Looking forward to see more. Thanks for sharing!

Indeed. Superbly done. Very creative.
Although I am born on the 13th and live in the city with dialcode 013, I never made any work of photographing it, but it is very inspiring.
I do have an example of some 13's however. In 2013 in Tilburg was the Year 013, close to 13 of course. ;) We organised a top1000 on 31 december '13 which lasted for 13 hours and 13 minutes and ended with a Top13 !

Airban, I like the uneven planes. It gives extra composition interest on top of the combination of different objects to created the desired outcome. Was it like that or did you arrange it? Just curious.
Almass, love it. I tried with some hotels -nothing to show yet-, an aircraft missing the 13th row and an strange missing 13th spot on a parking lot. This example is much better than any of those!

Just to show serendipity happens -again- I went to a friends wedding on October the 2nd. We could not take the bike so we rented a car to attend. The night I was going to return it, my girlfriend pointed out the plates were special... :)

It's interesting how the Greek letter Beta is actually pronounced in Greek as Vita and it is spelled B :D

If I remember correctly, "V" is pronounced as "B" in Spanish, but not the other way around. An old guitar-like instrument vihuela is pronounced like "biwela".

Saturday we were riding with no destination. At a wimp, we rode to the "Abadía de Sacromonte", a beautiful scenery point in Granada from were you can see the valley between Albaycin and Alhambra. As soon as we get there, some gorgeous cars started -I had no idea- to park around us. It was the coming of the 13th Reale Route. This the 13th car on the 13th route.

The d700 needed a cleaning and so it went to a professional store here in Granada. It was not a pleasant experience as it took double the time and I had to send it a second time because of a bad cleaning. To be fair, second time was much better and they charge me half the price for the inconvenience.

Akira, John . and Paco, the guy on the right had at least 15kg on the numbers 12 and 13 plus a few years experience :). These were shot with D300s. 300 f2.8 at f2.8. I would have put theses out to the teams in Vivid jpegs a few hour after the match. These two are in D2x profiles. When I had the light I would shoot D300s/300 f2.8 and D3s/ 70-200 f2.8GII for close in stuff. Lots of fun but have not been shooting much Soccer these days. Long, sad story :(

Unlucky number 17 is a very local Italian superstition; in other cultures, for example in the jewish kabbalah 17 is a lucky number. But then Noah's flood reputedly started on the 17th of the 2nd month... which balances out the lucky part of #17.

Both 13 and 17 are considered unlucky numbers, 13 is the number of persons at the Last Supper (and one of them dies...), and 17 in roman numerals is XVII, one anagram of which reads VIXI (= I lived = I am dead). Anyhow...

Massimo, the lens was the 50-250mm 4.5-6.3, photo taken at 250mm and wide open at f6.3 on a Z50. This ship is a bulk grain carrier, which like a tanker, has a rather "blunt" bow that helped with the flattening effect.

Thanks for your concern Paco and Massimo. After the negative test the first positive was a bit shocking as it was dark blue the moment the fluid hit the T-line! This was in mid-August and I escaped from isolation after the recommended 10 days (as when still tesing positive at day 5, that was #3 from top). I have later tested negative a couple of times around the 2 week mark, so that was about how long it took. It was what in media is being called a mild case. That brings the expectations that it is something like a very mild cold, perhaps hardly noticeable, but it was nothing that felt mild about it. Digging into that CDC definition, it means one are just not gasping for air, opposed to what is called moderate COVID-19! So try to stay off even mild cases. :o (Massimo, I se a proper NO the the right in your image.) But at least I got 5 cases of #13 in one frame (counting the drop symbols as ones ;D )

Ha, driving tests! Three years ago a train flew through the nearby station at 100kph, smashed the (closed) historic gates under these signals and finally stopped 600m further up the track! Fortunately this happened late at night when there was little road traffic!

This damn thread forced to me make a long detour, as when I joined the river the count on the bags was very very high. Without a moment’s thought I set off to find #13. I almost gave up, as I had to clamber onto a closed section of a bridge in order to see the important bag with the blue number.
Back on my original route I took the opportunity to bag the red ones :-)

Colin, i use a Shen Hao 617 (PTB-617) for panoramic images.
By the way, the "missing" window was carried on throughout the entire row of sheds, but i didn't/couldn't put that in one shot. These were part of old Philips factory buildings and re-purposed as sheds for the new apartment building in the background. This is in Eindhoven, which is still riddled with old Philips buildings.
