I cover many events that have both and am never quite sure about the images.




This is more of a PJ shot with the then new Son a7II and Batis 25 f2


This was with the Df, 58 1.4G handheld in A.  Priority. No sharpening or NR applied but highlight protection

Wow, that second shot is great!
The way the head is engulfed in flames is very cool.

fires in 2015 Cape Town   - we thought it was bad - but we have had dozens of new fires the past 2 months - mostly arson they believe

last one - Taxi - riots - fighting about routes and permits - burning tyres are thrown in the road and cars stoned. That's how they solve problems

Thanks Tom for starting this thread. Your photos are beautiful. I especially like the second one for the charm it creates.

Elsa - your photos look like they are right out of newspaper reporting. Very clean, interesting and story telling.

Well, not really flames, but I've always thought of this shot as flames on the side of the boat.  More of a flame paint job, as on hot rod cars.

This is not a great photo.  I get that.  I just handed the phone to someone while we were shooting video.  But that's ME, playing with fire. :)
