I am curious to see Bjørn's contribution to this thread 
Smartphones are clearly capable tools, especially when masters handle them, as can be seen from the images posted.

I don't use smart phones of any kind. The reasons are several and of no importance except for myself.

You certainly won't regret visiting that island and that terrace.

Now back in Santa Clara, California. I regret not carrying a real camera that night when all these cool car owners gathered in a neighborhood pizza joint.

I do use the phone a lot as a camera. It is always with me and the geotagging makes it very useful  to record places were I can do a "serious shooting" later on. And of course, intimate moments, because it is always there.
   This is pushing it a lot.  A picture of a rehearsal this past summer with Cirque du Soleil. Stage is the most technically demanding environment for me so far. Doing it with a phone feels like showing of...
  No, I wasn´t there as a photographer.

I guess not, but i can't post any of mine. I tend to only take smartphone pictures of white boards at work  They're great note takers.

True. Also convenient to send messages through Whatsapp.  Anyway sometimes I use it for other things

I'm very rarely the person at a concert with their phone out but I had such good seats for Grace Jones at the Hollywood bowl that I couldn't not take some crappy cell phone snaps.

1) Grace wearing her primary outfit for the evening, a corset & body paint.

First image is also a rehearsal. The tricky part it is to balance the lights with the black to get a "close to good" exposure. I´m very happy with this one. Just resized for the web.
Second one is one example of looking for location for "serious shooting later". I haven´t used this one yet but it is very promising. Samsung s4 with pp in photoshop.
