Sunrise salute
« on: April 29, 2021, 18:35:56 »
This adult common loon was doing a wing flap in the early morning sun.   Floating around with them in my little loon boat.  Working the edge of light is always fun.

D4. 600 with 1.4TC. ,  f/7.1, 1/2000s

Cheers

Beautiful capture Randy.  I can't decide if it's your exposure talent or the range of the D4 but am very impressed with the ability to catch the detail in the range from shadowed black head to the sunlit white belly.
Not sure why I missed this earlier, but I'm apparently not alone.
Regards,
Bill Oliver

The bird almost seems to be enjoying its morning shoulder stretch.

Ditto!  I wonder how much patience would be needed to make such a precious capture!
