Golden hour Pileated
« on: March 20, 2021, 02:22:08 »
This pileated woodpecker was captured this evening just as the sun headed for the horizon.  He was nice enough to give me the curious pose.

Very fine.  Nice to find such a charismatic and co-operative subject.  Cheers,  John

THANKS guys!

I am lucky to have the pileateds in my area.  Years ago I was able to spend many hours shooting a pileated nest site, which because of the steep hill it was on, was almost on eye level for me.  My equipment was rather more basic then, but still a great experience.
