Yes, it can. In fact, versions back to 1.35 can do that although colours are off unless you make a session colour profile.

I have uncompressed Z-files. And Photo Ninja still can't read them in my version 1.3.7a

Yes, that is possible of course, but it's an extra step of (unnecessary) work   I was hoping the 'problem' was solved with the  new update.
