(1/1)

Michio Akiyama:
I would like to show you the Nikon model H field microscope.
The Nikon model H is a small and cute microscope, but it is a research-grade high-performance microscope.

Birna Rørslett:
I fondly remember using that model in the field in the late '60s It was an amazing design.

Sometime later, one of my co-workers did not return the H after field work. Thus it went under the radar at the institute and got lost. I always wondered about where it ended up, but never got a clear answer.

pluton:
A fascinating instrument. If I ever seen one for sale at a low price (unlikely), I'll buy it.

MFloyd:

Splendid piece of equipment. If I find one at reasonable price.

I have a brochure I acquired for this model, as well as for several other laboratory microscopes, when I was yet quite young. The kid had dreams. Still does, in fact! (In that sense, I hope I never grow-up.) While I did eventually managed to obtain my "very own"  :D lab-bench microscope, from a university medical center that was replacing their stock for no more good reason then that they were compelled to spend money on new equipment, or hire someone to properly maintain what they already had (USA...ahhh, I love my country), the Model H is still a dream.
