Thanks Akira.

That is very strange it was not released in Japan. What could be the reason ?

Especially that this Fuji (E900) alone has the ability to deliver a Tiff of 4864-3684 pixels large (with the Super CCD HR sensor).  Hyper Utility 3 can also read and translate the raws.

This raw is a larger output than the Fuji S5 and earlier models.  The specialty of the sensor, the highlight recovery,  works als great with the E900 RAF's.

See the original brochure at that time (2006) https://www.fujifilm.ca/shared/bin/E900_Brochure.pdf  Looking at the ebay selling locations one can conclude that especially in the UK this Fuji was an enormous success.

John, thank you for the details of the camera.  Like any manufacturers, Fujifilm offers pdf manuals for the old models to download, but I couldn't find one in Japanese for this particular model.

I can only speculate, but they could have decided that the model of this type and spec was not going to be popular among Japanese customers.  If the spec were that high, Japanese customers would have preferred a DSLR style model.  Or, that was simply for the marketing reason.  Remember, Nikon didn't sell Series E 28/2.8, 135/2.8 and a zoom (I forgot which one was that) in Japan.  There should be other examples.

Yes. And it needs to be seen large I imagine. Very fine.

Thanks for the reply, Akira.  Sounds logical.   The Bridge camera Fuji S9600 shares  the same sensor as the E900.  Is that one more popular in Japan?

First signs of spring and snow thaw. Not sure for how long we can be in this "blessed" state of affairs, though. Weather has let us down so many times before this winter.

I availed myself of some spring light to do UV video with the PrimaLuce Z5 and the Coastal 60mm f/4 APO, through the usual Baader U filter. Colour balancing UV video footage from this camera is a challenge so far exceeding my skills I'm afraid, but I try to improve the situation. Anyway, here is a video grab frame. Clearly, I'm not a videographer either but capturing moving scenes in UV is a funny experience nonetheless.

It looks like the bridge did tremble during the exposure ;)
