Forest Creature
« on: November 15, 2020, 22:19:01 »
This image was captured deep in a local forest while out for a walk.  It has been there for a long time, as the wheels are sunk into the ground up to the bottom of the frame.  I didn't know what car it was, but counted the number of mounting points on the grill, and it matched the number of letters in  Oldsmobile. The style made me think it was from the 50s.  A quick Google search of grills with those criteria showed that it was a 1959 Olds 88 Dynamic.  I sure wish I knew the back story on this.  It was in a gully and would have been very challenging to drive it there.  One of those mysteries of life.

Cheers

A fine capture of a Decaying Car, one of my favorite genres.

Thanks Keith:

I have always had a soft spot for machinery, both new and old!

Maybe the answer is in the trunk/boot  :o

Scene is nicely framed by the trees!

A small group of NG photographers visited a Swedish similar setting 10 years ago, amazing fun we had ;) Got some great pictures out of that as well.

I think he was in the way to the forest. One of the very first images ever for me. Was taken with a video camera that will make digital snaps. This is the full image at full resolution sooc.
