Really just for reference only, but one of the kakaku sellers has a new one.

https://kakaku.com/item/K0000591533/?lid=pc_ksearch_kakakuitem

However, I don’t think a kakaku listed seller is advisable outside of Japan, as the buying process is funky. I just bought a new D750 body from the ‘Wink’ seller, and it was only when I got it and opened the box that I felt comfortable. But it has a one year Nikon warranty (apparently ...), and I paid for a seven year warranty, including accidental damage.

I recently bought a slew of AI and AIS lenses, all from Japanese eBay sellers. I checked prices at Fujiya and Map first, but nothing caught my eye. Although I technically live in Tokyo, it takes long bus and train rides to get into town, and in Covid days I don’t really want to do that :-( However, I am sure that if (when) I do get to visit the shops I will leave with a heavy little package in my pocket.

Oh, I didn’t know Yoda sells Nikon refurbs. Are they just a flash in the pan, or do they have a special section for them?

That is great info, thank you.

Can you tell me the Kanagawa branch? I am in the dirty old town of Machida, which skirts Kanagawa.

i dont know unfortunately but i was told that there is another one at kanagawa :o :o :o

refurbs are ex-display cameras, mine came with around 37,000 clicks and STD (subdial tardy display) ::) and scratched exterior.
or old-new-stocks....

That should not be a refurbished one.  As you say, those are outlet cameras that have been on display as samples in the shops, touched and fumbled.  I don't think any camera brands sell refurbished cameras in Japan.

i was told that mine was, in fact i saw that the screws have scratches meaning it was opened recently. the scratches look recent. they told me that they sent the cameras back to Nikon so I assume it was refurbished :o :o :o

I bought a refurbished D5300, and it looked like new, no scratches or anything, in box with papers.

To be precise, that should be called "repaired" or "overhauled", not "refurbished".

As Bent says, a refurbished camera should look as good as new.

Just bought a mint s/h Df with a "silver ring" 50 1.8 in December (arrived in January)... As a D4 owner, I of course love the performance... I was saddened though not surprised at all to hear that the Df was discontinued. I had hoped until a few years ago that a DfII would be forthcoming, but was again saddened, though not surprised, that one never did.

In the few short months I have owned my Df, I have come to love it and have bought two lenses especially for it... one is shown below.
I hope that this camera has a lot of life left in it.
