Ruth and I followed a little used path along the River Glåma today which brought us into frequently very dense riparian forests. Some parts were almost impenetrable due to massive windfalls, even were we to carry a chainsaw, thus we had to circumvent the most inaccessible sections. They made for nice photo opportunities though. Here a snapshot with the tiny, elusive and very sharp Voigtländer 85mm f/3.5 APO-Lanthar S on the likewise small NEX-5N Monochrome.

I have been close to home for a long time now and it chages the way I see things. Home stairs.

Catching first light today with, for the first time since long ago, enough time to take a few pictures before work starts.
Hoping to get some free time to be back here more often.

It's snowing today, so will have to contribute another snapshot from yesterday :(

Ruth leads while we navigate our hidden path upstream through an open (!) section of the dense riparian forest. Again, NEX-5N monochrome with the Voigtländer APO-Lantar 85 f/3.5 S. Food for thought this is just 40 km away from the centre of Oslo, capital of Norway. My new neighbourhood to which I relocated only 18 months ago has a lot to offer.

it seems quite wild in your area. Is is wild or just nature coming back after humans have given up?

Riparian forests that are flooded frequently develop like this. Thus yes, only "nature".

I learned that nature often needs decades or centuries to recoover from destructive human intervention. If it has not seen destructive human intervention or human intervention at all it looks different.

This particular river has major run-of-river hydroelectric facilities however those cannot much change the nature-given annual flooding pattern. The regulation measures might lead to a reduced winter flow but magnitude of spring floods cannot be kept under human control.

Nice. Is that lens family of the later 90/3.5?

As far as I know it was launched around 2001 initially for the Bessa rangefinder cameras, together with a brood of other high-quality, well-made Voigtländer lenses in S (Nikon rangefinder) mount. I have the 21mm f/4, 25mm f/4, 58mm f/1.5, and the 85mm f/3.5 from that series. The Bessa saw a first incarnation in Leica "L" mount (screw 39mm), then the Bessa R2S with Nikon S-mount.
