Thanks for the comments
used a led light  inside a carton box to soften the light
open the bonnet , spend some time lighting the engine
close the bonnet spend some time lighting the paint trying to emphasize the curves and trying to avoid reflections of the light

since the car is dark blue and there is little detail on the hood it needed about 2x the time than the engine
the detail of the engine was overwhelming the color of the hood

I set the fuji to 4 min exposure, played with ISO and aperture and the time I was directing the light to the car to get closer to what I wanted to accomplish
ended up taking a little longer than 1 hour with multiple attempts
Brought the image into camera raw played with highlights , clarity, dehaze, vibrance

much better than 1 hour seating on the coach watching tv :)

True watching tv is wasting time. Thanks for the explanation>

another good one
Looks like you're "in the pink", Fons!  ;D
You keep me interested Fons. All your decisions here: colors, shapes, focal length, closeness, the various ways to split the frame with different ...everything. What a great catch and presentation. A very real but surreal corner of being :)
awesome view

Thanks fellows, a bit of a creative edit on the colours, the original one doesnt look that bad either ;)

Being stuck at home for me means meetings are all online. I tried an old webcam I had in a drawer, but the tiny lens meant my whole mess was in focus. So this weekend I set up the Z6 as a webcam with the venerable Nikkor S.C Auto 50mm f/1.4 making sure my background is an incomprehensible blur. Have gotten positive comments at all my meetings today.

I experimented with:
24-70 f/4 - too much DOF,
85mm f/1.8 - too long,
50mm f/1.8 G - noisy autofocus + autofocused on what I didn't want people to see when I moved out of the chair,
35mm f/1.4 - too short,
55mm f/1.2 - too hazy and a bit long,
55mm O - focuses too close.

my reasoning was that the Z7 is not far enough set apart from my D850 and that I really miss the creamy RAW files from my D600. 24MP fullframe is a very sweet spot.

I am still desperately waiting for the 1.2/50S
