« on: April 19, 2020, 11:38:10 »
Please tell me how to use the sub selector to centre the focus point?
Thanks

You have a Z6? Then just read the manual. You can put the centering function on the multi-selector (OK) and other rear buttons. Go to the section F2 under Customs Settings. Lots of personal settings possible.

Birna, the manual is not that useful I’m finding! I hear what you say but the manual is quite vague on how to customise the bodies, it tips and tricks from the web that are a bit more specific!
Birna are you telling me off, please remember I’m an old codger and heading to doddery side of my age and need all the help I can get!  ;D

... I'm not that young any more myself ....

Menu > Custom Settings > F2 > press right on the big selector button (the one with OK) until 'sub-selector' /' focus point selection' is high-lighted, press OK then 'Menu' to confirm and then you should have a short-cut to centering the focus point .... You might use other function buttons as well, but this rear button is most useful.

I still think there is a lack of controllability in that one cannot permanently lock the point of focus at a given location. Maybea future firmware upgrade will address this issue.

That’s a question that has not arisen for me! But if it irks you maybe a FW update would be!
My annoyance are blinking alerts, which I think are just wrong, Auto ISO is one, why it has to blink to tell me that the ISO has changed from the minimum, I’m at a loss t figure that one out, turn the alert to red but not blinking!
No 2 is EC another blinking annoyance, if I’ve set a different level, then I know it! I do not need a blinking scale to tell me, ridiculous! A case of Japanese nannying methinks!
OK rant over
