Very nice John,  a tad of desaturation perhaps

Thanks Fons and Mike.

This Tulip Species has a very specific red.  It is already a bit desaturated but perhaps a bit darker is the solution?

Posted earlier in 2017, the same tulips--

Tulips ought to be vibrantly red. Thus John has succeeded.

i had to briefly break my quarantine today to get medicines at the local pharmacy. Using an N95 mask I felt safe enough for this short excursion into the "wild". Operating a camera in a masked state is not easy though, so the little NEX-5N Monochrome came to the rescue. The camera with, in this case, a tiny lens such as the 25mm f/4 Voigtländer Scopar is easy to bring with me in the handbag, but I do have issues focusing such a moderately wide and not very bright lens on this camera despite the focus highlighting. Ironically this would be much easier with an OVF and a split-image screen :(. Perhaps I should take the Df next time although it is not small enough to go into my usual handbag unless I choose a large one.

Anyway, I got an acceptable snapshot. Need this not to let my imagining skills deteriorate faster than they already do in isolation.

A pity the 25mm f/4 is so elusive as it appears to be an excellent performer.

Yes you are right, but I seem to remember comments made about saturated Nikon reds being overblown in the past?

It's very easy to trade detail for red [over]saturation. Not sure Nikons are more prone to this than other digital cameras, though. Much depends on the processing of the raw files.

Fons, not sure if I prefer the one with the 200mm, some days ago or this one with the 105mm, which is your choice?

Yes the 200mm looks a bit thin too digital, if you ask me i prefer the Df over the Z6 (very subjective statement).
Here is one with the 105/1.4

from yesterday also on the Z6
