Around here, we tend to call it futball (as opposed to football). (Yes, only silly people call it soccer.
)
Football is a very violent sport and isn't appropriate for the younger kids (hell, it isn't appropriate for older kids also.) In the last 20 years or so, all the kids play futball when they're very young. Futball is finally beginning to take hold in the USA as a bonafide, top-tier sport. Our women are ahead of the men, (as always), but in another ten years or so ... the rest of the world will have to reckon with the US men's team as they now do with our women's team ... a real futball force that can never be taken lightly.
But I digress ... Luke, my grandson is the Striker for his team.
