I like the use of brass helicoid. They are usually very "smooth".

The serial number 904760 is the highest I have seen in the 904 series (904755 was the previous high). I will add it to my database!

the solitaire:
I really have a soft spot for the slower 135mm lenses Nikon made in their rangefinder and early SLR days. This lens is no exception. Lovely rendering! One could make so many exceptional photographs with one of these!
