7artisans 50mm f/1.1
« on: February 02, 2020, 11:03:04 »
I had this lens standing unused in my cupboard. Since I have no Leica M and no intention of getting one I ordered a LM-z adapter DJ-Optical. Using it on the z6 is a mixed blessing, but fun at times. Wide open it has all kinds of optical flaws, but closed down to f/5,6 it behaves. It has very swirly bokeh with some find ok for portraits. It is quite easy to focus with the aids provided by the z6. Anyway, here is couple of examples for those who is interested. I might provide some more after more use of the lens. Both of these are wide open.

I really like those images! wonderful lens, and can be used very creatively like you did here, saturated and sharp ;)
Here is a similar lens on Leica M9

Nice pictures Erik! I sure like the rendering of these kind of lenses, but I get equally tired of looking for subjects that «fit the lens format». In my mind it is a special purpose lens.

Thank you!
Indeed a very special purpose lens,,, Also it is possible to get similar images with an 'ordinary' vintage version of a 50mm f/1.2 or even f/1.4 ;)
Great creative fun ;D
