D4S focusing screen
« on: January 18, 2020, 16:37:08 »
Split prism focusing screens cause metering problems with D3 series cameras. Is the same still true with D4S? Considering ordering a screen from focusingscreen.com but don't want to order one that has am ill effect on other camera functions.

I have not tried a split prism screen but very much like the S-screen in my D4. It is a bit darker than the standard screen but a -0.6 stop adjustment to the meter takes care of it.

I would assume so. The most affected is spot and centre weighted metering. If split prism is desired one can live with the metering issue (stay matrix and compensate exposure based on "split-experience".

Thank you gentlemen. I will get the S-type screen for my D4S then. I have the same in my D3X.
