Apprentice violin maker, Cremona
« on: July 30, 2015, 16:14:33 »
The home of the violin, Cremona lost its pre-eminence, paradoxically because the dominance of Stradivarius crushed the possible successors.  Over the last century, efforts to restore the tradition have had some success.

We were wandering the back streets when we came across this workshop.  They welcomed us and were happy for me to make some photos.

This apprentice had been required by his master to redo some of his work.  He accepted this as part of the learning process.

The workshop also repairs guitars.
